I am a family and marriage therapist licensed in California with over 8 years of experience. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, and substance abuse issues. I also helped those who have experienced sexual issues and physical trauma or emotional abuse, and those in need of Christian-focused counseling. I have also worked with residential and outpatient clients.
My counseling style is warm, interactive, and non-judgmental. I believe that the client is the expert on themselves and therefore won't tell someone what they should do. My approach is primarily solution-focused. Together as a team we will create goals. Not everything works with everyone so it is important to state what you like and don't like in order to create a treatment plan to meet your needs.
I want to congratulate you on taking the step to change in order to reach your goals of becoming happier and more free. I look forward to being able to support and empower you on this journey.

Cynthia is such a non-judgemental and kind person. I have been struggling with anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and healing/dealing with my past. Cynthia has been so helpful on how to find a solution, giving me stuff to reflect on, and overall giving me the advice or words I needed to hear this whole time. She implements from our own beliefs (if you feel like it can help) and also different ways to cope with certain aspects within your life. She will immediately contact you and replies easily sooner than you think. She tells you like it is in a kind-personal manner as if you were talking to a friend, it's such an open space.

Cynthia has been absolutely amazing to me. I feel nothing but love for her and I am so grateful to have her as my therapist. I struggle with my pride towards receiving help and I am beginning to learn more about my mental health, and Cynthia has been nothing but kind, generous, loving, and supportive to me in my process. She has provided great information and coping skills for me. I am very confident of her and her work in my life as it continues.

I’ve really enjoyed counseling with Cynthia Tatum. She’s positive, upbeat, and uses humor/smiles as a way to offer support. I really appreciate her counseling strategies and how comfortable she makes me feel during our counseling sessions. She checks in with me regularly and offers great support/resources for me to explore between sessions. She helps me get to the heart of my issues and what God wants for me in life. It’s challenging, but I don’t mind it because I know it’s good for me. I’d recommend her to anyone looking for an encouraging, upbeat, and challenging counseling environment.
